1. What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
When you use ContextOS, we store the content you create: projects, session logs, decisions, ideas, and resources. This data belongs to you.
We collect basic usage analytics (page views, feature usage) to understand how the product is used. We use Vercel Analytics, which does not set cookies and does not track you across sites.
2. How we use your data
- To provide the ContextOS service
- To send transactional emails (password reset, welcome email)
- To process billing via Stripe (we never see your card number)
- To generate AI briefings — your project data is sent to OpenRouter/OpenAI to generate responses. It is not used to train models.
- To improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Third-party services
- Supabase — PostgreSQL database hosting (US region)
- Stripe — Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy
- OpenRouter / OpenAI — AI briefing generation
- Resend — Transactional email delivery
- Vercel — Hosting and analytics
4. Data retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Profile → Danger Zone. Account deletion permanently removes all your data within 30 days.
5. Your rights
You have the right to access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time. Use the Export feature in Settings to download all your data as JSON. To delete your account and all data, use the Danger Zone in Profile settings.
For any privacy requests, contact us at privacy@contextos.dev.
6. Cookies
We use a single session cookie for authentication (NextAuth.js). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics is cookieless.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. We'll notify you by email if changes are significant. Continued use of ContextOS after changes constitutes acceptance.
